September

It was a joy to send a team of ten poeple to serve in Malawi for 2 weeks. We met up with our Source Malawi Director and staff and joined in their efforts to bring food, supplies, love and laughter into the neighboring regions of Lilongwe. Our building projects are in full swing, and the team was able to assist in finishing the first Source Home! This home is on 4 acres we were able to purchase as a base for our community work. During the trip our team also ministered in village churches, visited and prayed for people, and grew to have a deeper love for the warm heart of Africa.

October

Fun Harvest Projects with our EOHS resident!

We offically opened our Enhanced Out of Home service for Developemental Disabilities. Our first resident was welcomed by our DDA team, and is now learning to trust their care and enjoy the new environment. There have been field trips, cooking projects, and lots of fun games!

November

The Source Spokane works to blend professionalism & a sense of family. One of the ways we do this is to build memories with our residents and staff. Our yearly Thanksgiving event incorporates our entire team with the youth we care for and a big family environment.

This year we had 80+ people from our team converge on Shiloh Hills Fellowship Church, which graciously let us use their multi-purpose room. We shared a delicious Thanksgiving meal,(way too many desserts!) and games for the kids to play. These events remind us that we are each part of something much bigger than ourselves. Contributing to a sense of belonging and acceptance for our residents brings a wider perspective to the importance of celebration!

Prayer Points

1. With a vision for expanding our work to include as many youth as we can, we are working with the State of Idaho to open licensed care homes. Pray for guidance and favor as we develop this.

2. Our Malawi team continues the work of ministering to the tangible needs of the villages and spreading the hope of Christ. Pray for continue provision, wisdom and strength for our team.

3. Our staff teams here in Spokane are daily faced with new and unexpected challenges in caring for the needs of our residents. Pray for wisdom, unity and strength as they navigate through the behaviors, traumas and pain to get to the heart of each youth.

4. We have mulitple teams in place for the smooth running of this organization, and each one has it’s own joys and challenges to experience. Please say a prayer for our Board of Trustees, our Executive Team, our Directors Team, Management teams, line staff, and of course…

5. Pray for the young people in our care! For healing and wholeness, hope and love to be received by each one. Pray that they come to see how valuable they are, and that they can have a future that is unbound by the pain of their past.
