Culture is important. It is deeply influencial. It effects everything we do, but we are often unaware of the details of our own culture and how it spreads to others. The Source Spokane has worked to be as intentional as possible in recognizing our culture, and determining which aspects of it are healthy and beneficial in order to cultivate that further. We also get to walk in humility and look for areas in which we want to see change.

Our Director’s Team as leaned into this process to grow as individuals, grow in our communication skills, and broaden our understanding of who we are as an organization, what our goals are, and how we want to shape the future. It has been an incredible challenging and rewarding process, and we are growing in excitement as we build momentum for the future of our organization.

Office Updates

As our organization continutes to grow, so has our admin team! We have acquired a new office space adjcent to our current space, and have added several desks to our reception area as we have two office assistants and a personal assistant to Chris Knowlton- his lovely daughter Kinzy! These people are dedicated to supporting the Managements teams and staff at each of our 4 Youth homes. .

Source Youth Home Updates

Our newest endeavor has been to reopen Riverbluff as a DDA home. This serves the developmentally disabled and their families. Part of this home is for respite care, where we care for the child for 30 days in order to give their families some time off. The other portion of this home is for permanent placements. We have a great team working to show excellent care for the youth in this home and we are very thankful for this opportunity.

Our Grace House home cares for 2 youth, Hilltop currently has 4, and Birch Meadows 5.

We have also added 2 new Program Managers to our team, and are in the process of hiring a 3rd.

Malawi Update

Here is the Source Home #1 with walls and roofing finished! We are so delighted by the progress made by our hard-working Malawi team!

We have another team of ten people from Spokane flying out to Malawi on September 7th. We will be continuing construction on the Source Malawi Community land site, as well as bringing much needed supplies into villages around Lilongwe and Lake Malawi. Our team will serve in many capacities, all to honor the Lord and encourage our borthers and sisters in Malawi with the truth that God sees them, loves them, and wants to meet their needs.

Prayer Points

Pray for each of our Youth Home Management teams as they welcome new members and make adjustments. These people are the most influencial people in how our residents are mentored and cared for.

Pray for our Residents to each grow into health and wholeness.

Pray for our Executive Team and our Directors Team as they work to support the Managers and Line staff, bring healthy shifts to our culture, and minister to the needs of all our people.

Pray for our team in Malawi, and the outreach team who will spend two weeks with them. May the Lord be honored and glorified in all that is said and done.
